Michael Nader will always be remembered for his smoldering eyes and a dazzling smile that melted the hearts of audiences for more than two decades. Less known to Michael’s fans was his passionate love of life and family, concluding with his 18-year–relationship to Jodi Lister. Their companionship and marriage brought them from the High Life in the Hamptons to a quiet, private life in rural California where Michael fell in love with the history of the region and fashioned himself a Mountain Man, taking part in early 19th century re-enactments and learning to craft his own clothing and tools.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri but raised in California, Michael was the nephew of actor George Nader. As Michael's earliest love was surfing, it was only natural his breakthrough in the entertainment industry would come with films such as Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Pajama Party, Beach Blanket Bingo, and How to Stuff a Wild Bikini. In between his fun-in-the sun-movies, he won fans in a recurring role opposite Sally Field in Gidget

Setting the surfboard aside, Michael moved to daytime television, spending three years on As the World Turns, which led to a guest spot on Magnum, P.I., which followed to his being cast in the NBC series Bare Essence. The success of Bare Essence earned Michael the role of a lifetime when Aaron Spelling cast him as Farnsworth "Dex" Dexter in Dynasty. From the moment he sauntered onto the screen, people around the world were thrilled by the chemistry between Dex and Alexis (played by Joan Collins).

After Dynasty ran its course, Michael returned to his daytime roots on the ABC drama All My Children. In his role as Dimitri Marick, Michael went from being the husband of nighttime's biggest diva to that of daytime's reigning diva, Erica Kane. He appeared in All My Children from 1991 to 1999, returning briefly to star again on the series, from 2000 to 2001 and in 2013.

At the time of his cancer diagnosis and far-too-soon passing, Michael had begun revising an autobiography written in 2001. The book was not meant as another Hollywood story, but a memoir that would reveal the whole man, pulling back the curtain on the heights and depths he experienced. Experiences he wanted to share with millions of people he would never meet face to face, but who all played a supporting role in his career. The book, largely written, will be published soon. Expect to be surprised, delighted, and shocked by the raw true story of his life, an actor, a man, always full of surprises.
